Eloise Knight
Eloise Knight is a London-based painter recently graduated from a BA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins. She primarily works with paint to produce menacing and supernatural compositions that explore a semi-autobiographical narrative. Knight sees the canvas as a space within which to entrap feelings of trauma, guilt and regret and turns it into something visual, thereby releasing these emotions from the internal to the external realm. This results in her deeply personal work having a suspended sense of the surreal and the real to them. Knight has an interest in memory and its susceptibility to be manipulated. She focuses on this vulnerability to address past trauma and retranslates these memories into the unsettling landscapes and figures seen in her work. Knight’s work has recently been exhibited in The London Design Festival exhibition ‘Permanent Temporary’ at The Bottle Factory.
